Grass Roots enters Top 100

Business improvement company, Grass Roots, has been included in this year’s Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For list. The list is produced annually based on a confidential questionnaire sent by the Best Companies organisation directly to the employees of those companies that chose to enter. The questionnaire scores each company in the areas that matter most to their people.

The number of companies entering the Sunday Times award has increased year-on-year since its inception in 2001, with organisations, across all industries competing for the accolade of being announced a top 100 company to work for. The list aims to recognise organisations for their skill, energy and dedication to making employment a worthwhile experience. The survey is independent and scrupulously monitored for compliance with its rules.

The results highlighted Grass Roots’ open management style, the stimulating work and internal recognition. Staff expressed excitement at the future development of the company and praised its leadership style, energy and capacity of the business to make a ‘positive difference to the world’.

Chairman and founder David Evans views the achievement as a “particular moment of pride”, and singled out Managing Director Rik Burrage for special praise. “Rik has the personality and great character needed to take the vision and philosophy, into our daily work. He is supported by a senior management team, many of whom started with the company in their early twenties, who demonstrate that if you do what you preach, good things will happen”.

Rik Burrage commented, “I am delighted that Grass Roots has been included in the Top 100, which is widely regarded as the leading survey of its kind. I’m particularly pleased with the recognition for our work in the local community. It shows that our staff, many of whom live in the area, appreciate the support we give to local schools, arts and sports projects, and the commitment we make to work experience opportunities”.
